Brunch at Baked, Hove

Hove is full of wonderful little cafes, a lot of them independent and all a little bit different. My favourite has to be Baked. Located on Church Road, opposite Fatto a Mano it has a great spot. Perfect for sitting outside in the sunshine people watching. It was way too chilly to do that today so we sat inside. They have plenty of space with more tables downstairs, so don’t be put off if you walk past and it looks full.

The menu is simple with breakfast and brunch dishes, all served to order until 3pm. It is always busy, which I’m not surprised about!

Today we went for two of their House Favourites:

Feta Eggs

Poached eggs, avocado, crumbled feta and toasted sourdough. The eggs were cooked perfectly so the yolk ran out when you cut into it. There was a lovely herby dressing on top too.

Huevos Rancheros

Cheese filled tortilla, black beans, fried eggs, chorizo, avocado, salsa and sour cream. The portion was very generous, the eggs were perfectly runny again and the chorizo was delicious!

We left feeling thoroughly satisfied, feeling like we’d had a fresh, relatively healthy brunch that would set us up for the rest of our Saturday.

I just ordered a tea but my husband was tempted by the Italian Hot chocolate! Would also be a good choice if you’re popping in just for a drink.

Italian Hot Chocolate

The service is friendly and efficient, all you can ask for when having brunch. They really are doing a great thing by producing delicious dishes from a relatively small menu. The dishes were around £9 and well worth every penny.

This will be our go-to brunch place in Hove. I encourage anyone looking for brunch in Hove to give it a go! I promise you will not be disappointed!
